The cancer institute
The whole journey, in one connected system
Sixteen steps. You will not need all of them, but whichever one you are at, there is a named person, a written plan and a next step.
The pathway
Where are you right now?
Sixteen steps is how the system sees it. Four phases is how you live it, and the waiting between them is the part nobody draws.
What makes it one system
Four things that stay constant, wherever you are treated
One record
Digitised, ordered and portable. You do not become a new patient at every facility.
One navigator
A named person who books, chases, remembers and answers the phone.
One written plan
With the alternatives considered, the reasons they were rejected, and the cost.
One signature
Every report and test order is reviewed and signed by a named oncologist.

Where cancer care happens
Decided here. Performed where it is best performed.
Treatment happens at the centre that is right for it, and we hold the plan across all of them. There is no procedure we can recommend that we profit from performing.

If you have just been diagnosed
You do not have to decide anything today
Bring whatever you have, even if it is incomplete. We will tell you what is missing, help you get it, and give you the option set in writing before anyone asks you to commit to a treatment.
