Programme R9
Real-World Evidence & Outcomes Science
What actually happens to Indian cancer patients?
The problem
Almost nobody in India records systematically which treatments are given, in what sequence, with what outcomes, at what cost. Guidelines are followed or not followed, and neither is measured.
That absence is why Indian treatment decisions rest on evidence generated elsewhere, in other populations, at other cost points.
The questions
- Which treatments are given, in what sequence, with what outcomes and at what cost?
- Where does real practice diverge from guideline recommendation, and why?
- What is the real-world safety and effectiveness picture for biosimilar switching?
What we are contributing
This requires no capability beyond disciplined recording of what the clinic already does, which is exactly why almost nobody does it, and why it is available to us from day one.
It is also the most directly fundable programme on this list. Pharmaceutical and biosimilar manufacturers pay properly for exactly this kind of characterised, prospectively collected outcome data.
The partner network multiplies it: as POAS partners join, the cohort becomes multi-centre and geographically representative rather than a single-city series.
How the work is done
- Prospective structured outcome capture from the institution's consented cohort
- Treatment-pattern analysis
- Comparative effectiveness methods
- Causal inference on observational data
- Registry design
What it runs on
- The institution's own consented cohort
- Partner-network data under agreement
- Published comparators
What it produces
- Real-world outcome studies
- Treatment-pattern publications
- Biosimilar switching and safety evidence
- The evidence base for certification standards
Why it is not just science
How this changes care here
- Feeds the certification standard
- Informs biosimilar and cost-equivalence decisions at the board
- Grounds our own audit
Funding fit
Industry research programmes; national grants; public tenders.
What we are looking for
- Partner sites willing to contribute structured outcome data
- Industry sponsors for outcome programmes
- Registry and data-management funding
Deliberately empty
Publications, funding and results
Nothing appears in this section until it exists in writing. No paper in preparation, no grant under review, no result not yet published. That rule applies with particular force to a research page.
